What is After Schooling?

After Schooling is a term used to describe parents that have a homeschooling philosophy but whose children still go to school. To us, a homeschooling (and after schooling) philosophy is about realizing that we as parents are our child’s primarily teachers. We teach them to speak, to walk, to be polite, to love and so much more. We read with them, help them with their homework and talk to them about their day.

We care (the most!) and are there throughout their life to provide guidance and encouragement. We know our child best and work with each new teacher in their life.

So I want to encourage all parents to feel welcome with the topic found under homeschooling on our site and any site.

Homeschooling resources are wonderful for all families. They provide advice, inspiration and tips that can be used by everyone. Subscribe to the ezine of ezines to hear about more homeschooling (and "after" schooling) resources that will help your family.

If you get a chance, visit a homeschooler’s conference — the seminars are topics that will help all families — learning styles, educational tools, parenting and inspiration. The trade shows have wonderful products that make good educational gifts.

And those of you who are homeschoolers, we encourage you to share your experiences, resources and ideas with all families.

We welcome all families — homeschoolers and "after" schoolers alike!
