Idea details:

I love to cook with my mom. We do lots of baking. You have to follow the measurements on a recipe very closely. Sometimes if your cooking for a lot of people you have to double a recipe. To do that you have to multiply all the ingredients by 2. Lots of ingredients are fractions, so you have to be able to multiply fractions, To know how much you have to make you have to do math, too. You have to figure out the number of people who will be eating, how much you expect them to eat, and how many your recipe will make. You always have to make enough for everybody! If your cooking the oven temperature has to be just right. You also have to time the item, so it is not under or over cooked.

Great cooks start with great math skills!
