Mother's Day Math

Mothers just love when their kids do math!
Here are some Mother's Day math activities to make any mom proud.
- A dozen Mother's Day roses cost $15.60. How much is each rose?
- Bake your mom a Mother's Day cake. Make the measuring a challenge: half the recipe and then triple it!
- Call your grandma to tell her much you love her. If you talk for 20 minutes at 5 cents a minute, how much does the call cost?
Cost of Trip to Visit Grandma for Mother's Day

My two children and I decided to take a trip from Vancouver to Victoria to visit my mother for Mother's Day. We traveled from Vancouver to Victoria in our car. We used ¼ a tank of gas. It costs $76.00 to fill the tank. The ferry costs $33.00 for the vehicle, $10.55 for one adult, $5.30 per child. We bought one bag of chips for $1.25 in a vending machine. My son played two bowling video games that were $0.50 each.

Don't forget the cost of the wildflowers... priceless!
- Sort and group Xs and Os (kisses and hugs) and play some Tic Tac Toe at the end.
- Make a picture frame out of cardboard for your mom. This craft uses geometry, measurement and following instructions.
- Write your mom a Mother's Day Card in Binary!
- Make a flower stamp from a sponge or potato to make a mother's day collage. If each flower print has 6 petals how many petals will you have if you stamp 12 flowers? Create a multiplication book from other groupings of your flower stamp (Mom's love when you do math!).
Combination of Flowers
You are going to give your mom one rose, one carnation, one iris and one daisy. How many ways can you arrange these four flowers?
