Debra Ross is the publisher of KidsOutAndAbout.com, a web site mainly for central and western New York State for parents who want to know what is going on "out and about" for kids and families, and which also provides articles and reviews about developing cultural literacy and educational growth in kids. She is also the owner of Axton Enterprises, a technology consulting company for mail-order businesses. She home schools her elementary-age daughters Madison and Ella in Rochester, NY.

Jess has been developing learning resources for kids and educators for more than 20 years. She is the author of five books on subjects ranging from citizenship to media literacy, including All About Canadian Citizenship and Speaking With a Purpose (with Jo Thornton).

In 2003, Jess found her math mojo when she and Lynda Colgan of Queen’s University created a math-research-at-your-fingertips guide for Canadian elementary teachers with Pearson Education.
